What does FTC do for FIRST
The official FIRST mission statement is “to provide life-changing robotics programs that give young people the skills, confidence, and resilience to build a better world”, and FTC does an outstanding job of doing so. FTC includes teaching middle school students valuable lessons—not only in the mechanical and robotics aspects, but also in how to work as a team. Students are taught to rely on each other, learn from past mistakes, and move forward together, which is an especially valuable skill to develop at a young age.
