Our website address is: https://freelandfabricators.com. This website is owned and operated by the Freeland Robotics Club, a community organization based in Freeland, Michigan. Our goal is to provide information about our club, our robots, and our sponsors.

2. Information We Collect and Why

Contacting Us

Currently, our website uses mailto: hyperlinks. When you click these links, your default email application opens. We do not collect or store your name or email address directly on our website servers through this method. However, any information you provide in an email sent to us will be used solely to respond to your inquiry.

In the future, we may implement a “Contact Us” web form. If we do, we will collect the name and email address you provide specifically to communicate with you regarding club business.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again. These cookies will last for one year.

While our website does not require general user logins, the WordPress platform sets a temporary cookie if you visit the login page (used by administrators) to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If a student under 13 wishes to contact us, we encourage them to do so with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

6. How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically. For administrative purposes, website administrators can also see and edit any information provided via contact forms or comments.

If you have left comments on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
